Open Me When…envelopes are a parent gift that keep on giving throughout the year! Each envelope has a label on the front that reads, “Open Me When _______” and indicates when that envelope should be opened. An ‘Open Me When’ parent gift can be given for Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents Day, and many other occasions!
What Do ‘Open Me When…’ Parent Gifts Look Like?
There are 12 envelope labels and inserts available, but you can easily use as little as 5 per student! Each envelope set will also contain an introductory envelope that explains the Open Me When system to the parent gift recipient:
How Will I Use An ‘Open Me When…’ Parent Gift?
The BEST part about this system is that there are templates for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, AND a gender/holiday-neutral theme that can be used for:
- Mother’s or Father’s Day gifts for students who live with a family member other than Mom or Dad
- Birthdays
- Grandparents Day
- Just Because!
In addition, these come in 4 different envelope sizes.
- 3×5
- 6 3/4 x 3 3/4*
- 4 3/4 x 6 1/2
- 9 1/2 x 4*
Just FYI, the sizes listed with the * are definitely the more commonly-found sizes of envelopes. I even found some at our local Dollar Tree in both of those sizes. HOWEVER, if you are a glutton for punishment unnecessary spending because you love all things cute (hi!), you can get the other sizes listed as well since they tend to come in more playful colors than your standard white.
How Much Prep Is Involved In This Parent Gift?
This is super easy for you as a teacher: simply copy the pages, get some envelopes, throw some art supplies out there, and POOF! Instant, easy, engaging, thoughtful (I could go on) parent gift. You can even tie it up with some cute string if you are feeling extra like that (because look!)
I mean, seriously. I want this parent gift for myself.
